The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) on July 31, 2026, issued the Fifth Amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Licensees' duty for supply of Electricity on Request and Recovery of Expenses for Providing Electric Line or Electrical Plant) Regulation, 2013.
The amendment aims to clarify provisions relating to existing electrified networks, group applications, apartments and additional/new electricity loads. The amendment prescribes criteria for determining existing networks based on load and distance, provides for aggregation of loads in multi-consumer premises, introduces provisions for dedicated Distribution Transformer (DTR) for certain loads, and specifies revised charges for additional/new loads, including cases involving DTR augmentation and HT consumers opting for LT billing.
